
Usyk Will Lose WBO Belt If He Doesn’t Fight Parker – Final Notice Has Been Sent!
Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk has been issued a final warning: defend your WBO title against Joseph Parker or risk being stripped of the belt. The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has formally notified Usyk’s camp that he must honor his mandatory title defense against the New Zealander, who is currently ranked as the No. 1 contender.
This development follows Usyk’s historic victory over Tyson Fury in May, which crowned him as the first undisputed heavyweight champion in over two decades. While a rematch with Fury is contractually set for later this year, the WBO has made it clear that obligations to mandatory challengers take precedence unless a formal exception is granted — and so far, no such exception has been approved.
