Hammers Finally Get €20M Transfer Offer – But For The Wrong Player
West Ham United have finally received a significant transfer bid this summer – but it’s for a player they had no plans to sell. According to reports, a European club has tabled a €20 million offer for veteran defender Angelo Ogbonna, rather than the high-profile stars the Hammers were expecting to cash in on.
David Moyes’ side have been bracing themselves for offers for key men like Lucas Paquetá, Jarrod Bowen, or even Tomas Souček amid ongoing speculation about squad restructuring. However, the first concrete bid arriving for 35-year-old Ogbonna has left the London Stadium hierarchy more bemused than excited.
Ogbonna, who has been a loyal servant to the club since 2015, is entering the twilight of his career. He made limited appearances last season, largely as a backup option in central defense. While his leadership and experience have been valuable, few expected him to attract this level of interest – let alone a €20 million valuation.
The offer is believed to have come from an ambitious Serie A side
