
The Dallas Cowboys are facing a big question on defense involving Micah Parsons and their linebacker group. The main issue is figuring out which linebackers will stay on the roster and which ones could be cut. According to Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport, one player on the bubble is Damone Clark, whom he believes Dallas should move on from before the season begins. Davenport noted that Clark is not a bad player, pointing out that just two years ago, after returning from spinal fusion surgery, he started all 17 games and recorded over 100 tackles.
The former safety has weaknesses against the run, and with Dallas restructuring its linebacker group this offseason, he’s now buried on the depth chart.
The Cowboys are also bracing for a major change from last year’s linebacker lineup. Both 2024 starters, Eric Kendricks and DeMarvion Overshown, aren’t expected to play major roles this year. Kendricks wasn’t brought back in free agency, while Overshown tore his ACL, MCL, and PCL in December. Though the initial outlook suggested he could miss all of 2025, spring updates indicated he might be able to return by midseason.
