Brazilian rider Diogo Moreira is set to make his long-awaited debut in the MotoGP World Championship next year, marking a historic step for both his career and Brazilian motorsport. The 20-year-old, currently competing in Moto2, confirmed that he will join Honda’s satellite team for the 2026 season but will get his first taste of the premier class as a wildcard next year.
Speaking about the upcoming challenge, Moreira emphasized that performance—not nationality—is what truly matters in the elite category. “I’m performing well, and that’s the most important thing. Nationality doesn’t matter when you’re on the bike. What matters is speed, consistency, and results,” he stated confidently during a press conference in Misano.
Moreira’s rise has been rapid but well-earned. After making waves in Moto3 with his aggressive yet calculated riding style, the São Paulo native moved up to Moto2 and impressed with several top-10 finishes this season.
