Zac Lomax has reaffirmed his commitment to rugby league and the Parramatta Eels, declaring that the club is “the only place that feels like home” after rejecting a staggering $1.3 million offer from a rival code. The star outside back had been heavily courted by a major Rebel Code team, which reportedly tabled a multi-year deal to lure him away from the NRL.

Despite the financial temptation, Lomax says the decision came down to loyalty and passion for the game that shaped his career. “It wasn’t an easy call because that kind of money doesn’t come around often,” Lomax admitted in an interview. “But when I looked at where I’m happiest, where I want to grow as a player and a person, it’s here at Parramatta. This is home.”

The 24-year-old joined the Eels with high expectations and has quickly become a key figure in the squad’s long-term plans. His strong performances, versatility, and leadership have earned him respect both on and off the field. The club’s investment in Lomax reflects its ambition to build a roster capable of challenging for premierships in the coming seasons.

Parramatta officials were reportedly relieved when Lomax turned down the rival code’s offer, seeing it as a major win for the NRL amid ongoing concerns about player poaching. Rugby union and other competitions have been aggressively targeting league stars in recent years with big-money deals, threatening to disrupt team structures and talent pipelines.
