Rigamonti: “I’m in love with Márquez but ready to help Bagnaia”

Davide Rigamonti, one of MotoGP’s most respected crew chiefs, has made headlines with a bold and heartfelt admission ahead of the upcoming season. Known for his technical expertise and calm approach in high-pressure situations, Rigamonti has worked with some of the finest riders in the paddock. Now, as he prepares for a crucial role within Ducati’s structure, he’s balancing admiration for one legend while committing to another.

“I’m in love with Marc Márquez,” Rigamonti confessed in an interview, sparking a wave of reactions across the MotoGP community. “His riding style, his mentality, and his ability to push beyond limits have always fascinated me. Rigamonti also acknowledged the psychological intensity of the upcoming campaign: “When you have someone like Márquez on a Ducati, the pressure rises for everyone. But this is what makes MotoGP beautiful—competition at the highest level. Pecco is calm, mature, and fully aware of what’s at stake. Our task is to make sure the bike remains the strongest weapon on the grid.”

The Italian technician hinted that technical updates and setup strategies will play a decisive role this year. “Details make the difference. We know Márquez adapts quickly, and he’ll push the limits of the GP23. But Pecco has a deep connection with the GP24, and that synergy can be our winning
