Karren Brady, West Ham United’s Vice-Chair, has always been vocal about her pride in the club, and ahead of the highly anticipated clash against Chelsea, she has once again shared her thoughts on the players who will represent the Hammers on this big stage.

Speaking in her weekly column, Brady expressed a renewed sense of admiration for the team’s growth over the past few seasons. “What excites me most about this squad is the character they’ve developed,” she noted. “We’ve built a group of players who not only understand what it means to wear the West Ham shirt but also fight for every point. That’s what the fans demand, and this team delivers.”

Brady highlighted the mix of experience and youthful energy as a key strength. Veterans like Kurt Zouma and Jarrod Bowen continue to provide leadership, while emerging talents bring fresh ambition. “When you see players who have been with us for years stepping up alongside newer faces, it tells you the culture in the dressing room is strong,” she said.

The Vice-Chair also acknowledged the challenges of facing Chelsea, one of the Premier League’s most formidable squads. However, she stressed that confidence is high within the camp. “Our players know what they are capable of. Beating Chelsea isn’t just a dream; it’s something we’ve done before and can do again. The unity in this team gives me belief.”

Brady praised specific individuals who have become fan favourites. Bowen’s relentless work ethic, Edson Álvarez’s composure in midfield, and the creativity from players like Lucas Paquetá were singled out as reasons for optimism. “They represent the type of football we want to play – aggressive, smart, and entertaining,” Brady explained.

She concluded by underlining the importance of the supporters. “The players feed off the energy of the London Stadium crowd. When we face Chelsea, that atmosphere will be electric. Our fans know how big this game is, and I’m confident the players will rise to the occasion.”

As West Ham prepares for what could be a defining early-season fixture, Brady’s words reflect a club that feels stronger and more ambitious than ever. With confidence in her squad’s ability and determination, she believes the Hammers are ready to challenge any side – even one as decorated as Chelsea.
