Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner expressed his satisfaction following his side’s hard-fought 2-1 victory over West Ham United, their second London derby triumph in the space of a week. The win at the London Stadium followed on from their earlier success, showcasing resilience, confidence, and growing momentum under Glasner’s leadership. However, the Austrian coach was quick to highlight that while the performance had several positives, there remained areas where his team must sharpen up.

 

Palace began the contest brightly, with an energetic approach that unsettled West Ham. Their pressing forced mistakes, and the front line combined well to carve out chances. The breakthrough came midway through the first half when Eberechi Eze found space to deliver a clever pass that set up Jean-Philippe Mateta, who calmly slotted home. The goal underlined the fluidity that Glasner has been working hard to instill in his attacking unit.

 

West Ham, however, responded with pressure of their own. Palace had to withstand long spells of attacking waves, particularly from set pieces and wide deliveries.
