Nominees announced

On 20 October 2025, World Athletics confirmed the shortlist of five women and five men who are vying for the Field Athlete of the Year honours, as part of the World Athletics Awards 2025.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Year – Nominees

Valarie Allman (USA) — World & Diamond League discus champion; undefeated in 2025 with nine of the top 11 performances globally.

Tara Davis‑Woodhall (USA) — World long jump champion; undefeated; delivered the top three long jump marks of the year.

Hamish Kerr (New Zealand) — World high jump champion; indoor silver medallist and world leader with an area record.

Pedro Pichardo (Portugal) — World triple jump champion; world leader in his event.

The winners are determined via a three‑way voting breakdown:

50% of the vote comes from the World Athletics Council

25% from the World Athletics family

25% from the public vote via social media (Facebook, Instagram, X)

Voting for the Field Athlete of the Year category is open from 20 to 26 October 2025. The final winners will be announced at the World Athletics Awards ceremony on 30 November.
