MAJOR BREAKING: 2x Washington Commanders Pro Bowl player ‘not happy’ with team Over…

The Washington Commanders emerged as one of the NFL’s most improved teams last season, making a surprise run all the way to the NFC Championship Game. But instead of resting on that success, the front office doubled down this offseason, aggressively retooling the roster with major additions like wide receiver Deebo Samuel and veteran offensive tackle Terron Armstead.

Despite the momentum and lofty expectations heading into 2025, not everything is running smoothly in D.C. As the team gears up for training camp, one of Washington’s own Pro Bowl standouts is reportedly unhappy — signaling potential trouble before the season even kicks off.

It’s a reminder that even with upgraded talent and a playoff-caliber roster, internal chemistry and player satisfaction remain critical factors in sustaining success. The Commanders may be on the rise, but they’ll need to navigate off-field challenges if they hope to take the next step.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Terry McLaurin is “not happy with where things are with an extension,” as his contract situation remains unresolved heading into a pivotal season. Still, Fowler cautions that it’s not time to panic just yet, noting that the Commanders have “a couple of weeks to make progress” before training camp begins on July 27.

While the team made headlines by trading for star receiver Deebo Samuel this offseason, the move wasn’t meant to replace McLaurin. Ideally, the two would form a dynamic duo, elevating what’s already shaping up to be one of the most versatile offenses in the league.

McLaurin is currently set to carry a \$25.5 million cap hit in 2025 — the final year of his current deal. Given his production, leadership, and loyalty to the franchise, it’s no surprise he’s pushing for long-term security with the only NFL team he’s ever suited up for.

From a team-building perspective, keeping McLaurin in the fold long term makes sense. But the clock is ticking, and the Commanders will need to act quickly if they want to avoid a contract distraction lingering into training camp.
