BREAKING: The Reds Gets Another Stunning Update Involving Tyler Stephenson

Cincinnati Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson is bringing big personality and even bigger movie vibes to the inaugural MLB Speedway Classic — and fans of Talladega Nights are loving it.

In a special gear reveal ahead of the August 2 showdown at Bristol Motor Speedway, Stephenson debuted custom catcher’s equipment inspired by Ricky Bobby, the iconic NASCAR character played by Will Ferrell in the 2006 comedy hit. The gear features bold colors, a racing-style theme, and even a Mr. Red version of the Wonder Bread logo, famously worn by Bobby in the film.

One strap boldly declares the classic quote: “If you ain’t first, you’re last.”

Reds broadcaster Jim Day posted a preview of the setup on social media, calling it, “One of the best things I’ve seen in awhile… Shake and Bake!” The gear is already generating buzz across baseball and pop culture circles.

The Speedway Classic, the first MLB regular-season game ever played at a racetrack, will take place inside the infield of the famed Bristol Motor Speedway, with the Reds facing the Braves in a historic matchup. The event is expected to draw over 100,000 fans — possibly setting a modern-day attendance record.

Stephenson’s tribute to Talladega Nights is a fitting nod to the NASCAR roots of the venue. Fans are now wondering if Braves players — or other Reds teammates — might join the fun with their own themed flair.

The game promises to blend baseball, spectacle, and pop culture in a way that’s never been done before.

“Ricky Bobby behind the plate? We love it,” one fan wrote online.
“MLB needs more of this energy.”
